~Cob in the Kitchen Community Work Party~
Come help the Sherman Middle School community create a permanent artistic wall to border their outdoor kitchen using all natural and salvaged materials!
What: A Work Party to make big strides on our Cob Wall project
When: Saturday & Sunday, July 20 & 21, 9-4pm (with Cob Classes Sat. @ 1:30pm and Sun. @ 9:30am)
Where: Sherman Middle School garden
1610 Ruskin St. Madison, WI. (Park in lot & enter through alley on north side of school)
Why: Because lots of participants = lots of progress + enjoyment = :)
What else: We will be mixing cob with our feet and hands, screening clay & preparing materials, and building up our wall with cob!
Bring Water, clothes to get dirty in, sun protection, rubber boots or bare feet for mixing cob (barefoot is my preference), & work gloves if you want them.
We will provide a light lunch, great physical activity, and hopefully some music to work by! Note: No Bathroom access on site- there's a gas station about 3 blocks away.
Also: Cob Classes offered by project leader & natural builder Whitney Bembenek Saturday @1:30pm and Sunday @ 9:30am. Come learn about Cob Culture and How it is Made.
RSVP's to Picabo37@aol.com will help us prepare for the right amount of people. Thank you!!
